So often these individual are financially unequipped to pay their obligation for shelter, utility, nutrition, and medication. Social service support is crucial to the well-being of clients with sickle cell disease as it is with any other chronic severe illness. Triple S is our social and emergency services program. Through this program we attempt to provide emergency care and foster the development of independent coping skills, including transportation to medical appointments whenever necessary. We also assist our clients with emergency financial situations, until they are better able to find other resources or are better able to cope. We also provide them with information through support groups, workshops, and seminars that focus on preventive methods and solutions to preclude the reoccurrence of the financial hardship our clientele may face. To receive services you my be a client with the organization and fall within the low to moderate income bracket. |
